Our Story

In 1989 Late Dr. Suraj Prakash, the founder Secretary General, of Bharat Vikas Parishad (BVP) conceived the idea to launch a project to serve physically challenged people. With this vision, a team visited Jaipur, Rajasthan to study the on-going project of Bhagwan Mahavir Seva Samiti, a pioneer in providing artificial limbs to physically challenged people free of cost. The huge demand leads to 6 months of waiting for the people in need.  Considering the huge and urgent requirement and with well connectivity of  rail and road in Delhi, the decision to undertake this project was taken.

Dr. Radha Krishan Thakur, the state BVP President, took the challenge and started the centre as a Trust, Delhi Bharat Vikas Foundation (DBVF) at Dilshad Garden, Delhi in 1990. The trained manpower & technological support from Bhagwan Mahavir Sewa Samiti, Jaipur and Medical Assistance from Guru Teg Bahadur Hospital (GTB), Delhi led to the accomplishment of the dream and make it a living reality.
